Position Title: Laboratory Manager.
Job Station: Lagos State.
INTRODUCTION:-
Laboratory Manager job opportunity is available at Lagoon Hospitals for individuals who possess relevant qualifications.
Summary of Responsibilities
- This role is responsible for providing leadership to the Laboratory teams across all facilities of Lagoon Hospitals.
- The role will also coordinate and manage the activities and operations the Laboratories and ensure excellent patient experience within the hospital’s facilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
- Coordination and development of the hospital’s Laboratory department
- Responsibility for the facility laboratories, the staff therein and the services provided within and outside the laboratories, ensuring that patient care and management is optimal and is in adherence with the clinical guidelines.
- Supervisory and administrative oversight for Laboratory Scientists and Technicians and planning duty schedules
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures for the laboratory
- Participate in the recruitment, orientation and training of Laboratory Scientists and Technicians
- Work with department team members towards meeting and exceeding department’s set targets
- Maintaining quality control programs and enforcing conformity with Standard Operating Procedures and policies
- Recommend outside sources of Laboratory services
- Monitoring and reviewing all laboratory services within and outside the laboratory
- Monitor stock of materials & Reagents
Key Result Areas / Performance Goals:
- Effective management of the laboratories and staff therein.
- Maintenance of a high standard of clinical practice in the laboratory department
- Promptness of service delivery to the patients and release of test reports
- Infection control surveillance
- Confidentiality and safety at the laboratories.
- Use of SOPS / adherence to quality standards.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or its equivalent
- Certificate of Registration with the Medical Laboratory Council of Nigeria with a valid practicing license.
- Minimum 10 years’ post qualification experience in a hospital with 3-5 years in a team leadership role.
- Working knowledge of hospital laboratory
