Position Title: M & E Officer.

Job Station: Kebbi State, Sokoto State.

M & E Officer job opportunity is available at Green Habitat Initiative (GHI) for individuals who possess relevant qualifications.

About the Project

  • GHI is implementing the Project for Improved Sustainability of Integrated WASH Services (I-WASH) project in Kebbi and Sokoto states in collaboration with USAID.
  • The project components involve integrating WASH-WRM and watershed studies for the associated catchments in the region.
  • The activities will include provision of integrated WASH facilities, watershed studies of the river basins associated with the 4 states, remote monitoring of the WASH facilities and community advocacy. Expected start date is March 2021.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • Manage evaluation contracts and agreement.
  • The M&E Officer ensures timely communication of data to the Senior M&E Manager.
  • Perform or assist in data collection, data entry, data validation, and data quality assessment.
  • Liaise with internal and external project stakeholders in the assigned project areas to obtain information and data related to project performance.
  • Present and share M&E and research findings to internal project stakeholders in the assigned areas.
  • Train other staff, and local partners where required, on key M&E concepts, tools, and processes.
  • Offer technical assistance in the development, selection, and application of M&E processes and tools.
  • Assist with periodic reports as appropriate and submit inputs timely.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism when dealing with sensitive and confidential documents and information, and with co-workers and partners

DESIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:-

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics or related field.
  • At least 2 years of directly relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in a USAID-assisted project.
  • Excellent people skills at all levels, cultural sensitivity, ability to work well under pressure, negotiate diplomatically, and the ability to work well in a multicultural and multidisciplinary work environment.
  • Experience in developing and coordinating data collection, processing, and analysis systems.
  • Strong spoken and written English skills.
  • Willingness to work and travel in all project areas.
  • Fluency in the local language of the job location – Hausa.
  • Experience using qualitative and statistical data analysis packages and database management systems.
