Crane Electrician – APM Terminals

Location: Lagos

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing the maintenance/repair activities and evaluations for generators, motors, programmable logical controllers, electrical drive systems, electrical/electronic control systems, on the terminal’s equipment.
  • Ensuring efficient utilization of company resources and compliance with statutory requirements and established engineering standards.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and unscheduled breakdown maintenance on equipment assigned to Crane Section for maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and effect repairs on electrical and electronic circuits, digital drive and control systems, programmable logic controllers and electrical component elements. This includes the modification of components and servicing techniques to improve efficiency.
  • Service, repair, deploy, remove and stow away equipment as required using safe driving techniques and safe parking procedures.

Requirements
We are looking for:

  • A Degree/Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • The ideal candidate will have minimum 3 years experience as an Electrician in a container terminal engineering environment or in both electrical/electronic fields in any heavy industries.
  • Liebherr Mobile harbor Crane Experience.
  • Five(5) years previous experience as an Electrician in any ports, mines, steel and manufacturing plants plus shift working experience
  • Trade test certificate in Electrical Technician.
  • Basic Electrical Knowledge.
  • Advanced knowledge in Electrical components, maintenance and engineering.
  • Age range of 25 to 35.
  • Must hold a valid Driver’s license with at least 5 years driving experience.
  • Excellent visual acuity.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Requires good verbal and written communications skills.

Location: Lagos

Job Purpose

  • The purpose of the role of Area Finance Manager is to drive world class financial leadership in the exciting, vibrant and developing Central West Africa Area.
  • We are looking for a seasoned finance candidate to join our team as an Area Finance Manager. In the role, you will provide leadership and guidance to the Area Finance Function, act as a Finance Business Partner to the local Area Manager, be accountable for the quality of the books, ensure compliance with local and statutory regulations, maintain a strong local focus on working capital and ensure that the Area’s result and performance are run with one set of numbers.
  • The role is based in the Area head office in Lagos and oversees all 5 daughter countries in the Area.

Key Responsibilities
You will be expected to:

  • Bring an active leadership and sparring partner within the Area leadership team
  • Represent the company on the various Board structures within the area countries
  • Drive the usage of the standard reports
  • Share one set of numbers, owned by finance
  • Work towards standardized methodologies globally
  • Proactively support the Area functional leads improving the business results

  • Contribute to the regional finance community, by actively participating in the community and co-driving the agenda in this community
  • Act as a change agent for other global transformation programs and work on Up-skilling the area finance function to cater for new requirements and develop proper pipeline

Job Requirements
We are looking for:

  • An Expert in Financial Control as well as in Finance Business Partnering (preferably 10 years of general finance experience)
  • An experienced professional with a strong performance record in finance leadership roles (at least 5 years of leadership experience (with cultural diversity and remote leadership experience) would be a clear advantage).
  • A relevant Finance qualification as a must (CA or CIMA or Masters a prerequisite)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills – ability to explain financial data and conclusions based on them to stakeholders with non-financial background
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Charismatic personality of a real influencer, able to lead people successfully through transformation within the organization and to transform business approach in people’s mindset
  • Proven track record in Values based leadership
  • Fluent English skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess risks, review and assist in the development of policies and procedures, ensure their implementation and monitor compliance around the processes assigned
  • Plan and execute internal control reviews through peer reviews and any other assessments by understanding organization objectives, structure, policies, processes, internal controls, and external regulations; identifying risk areas; preparing the scope and objectives around the processes assigned
  • Assess compliance with all applicable regulations by ensuring that the controls in place cover the risks assessed by the regulators around the processes assigned
  • Closely monitor internal controls around the following processes assigned: Procure to Pay, Sales to Collect, IT & Network, Legal & Corporate Governance
  • Participate or organize periodic meetings with risk function, revenue assurance and process managersThe objective is to coordinate internal control activities with other functions, share information and create synergies to reinforce internal control

Requirements

  • Must have good understanding and working knowledge of accounting specific software (preferably IFS)Requires proficiency in various software applications and programs, specifically EXCEL spreadsheets.

  • Requires a minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience
